Industrial Heat-Transfer System Cleaner/ Etchant Additive
The safest, easiest, most effective way for you to clean your industrial heat-transfer system.
Industrial heating and cooling systems all perform the same function – transferring heat away from or toward your operating equipment. Scale and corrosion in your system can literally rob it of efficiency. Laboratory tests show that a 1/16" film of scale or oxides can reduce by 16 times, the heat transfer properties of steel (1 square inch of clean surface = 16 square inches of the same surface cowered with 1/16 inch thick layer of rust). GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive has proven its ability to clean and descale a variety of industrial cooling systems. GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is a non-acidic product, which in combination with hydrochloric acid can remove up to three times more scale or oxides and corrosion than Hydrochloric acid cleaners alone. Treating your system with GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat-Transfer System Cleaner Additive will help solve your heat transfer problems.
FEATURES :
Highly bio-degradable, readily disposable
Will not harm acid resistant gaskets, seals, pumps
Minimal downtime
Ambient temperature cleaning
Clean your system with GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive to remove scale, sludge and rust. In systems containing zinc, magnesium or aluminum parts it is critical to assess compatibility with acid materials. GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive – Hydrochloric acid exhibits superior cleaning performance when compared to Hydrochloric acid alone.
APPLICATION :
GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is better because
It saves time, money and downtime
Consider the cost of sending equipment off-site for service, or even the cost of replacing equipment. Now compare those costs to on-site (or even on-line cleaning) with GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive.Because GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is easy to use, off-site cleaning can often be eliminated. This means less downtime and better control of your costly equipment.
It cleans better!
Removes up to three times more oxides, corrosion and hard-water scale than mineral-acid cleaners -- verified by testing and by customer applications.
It's safer!
GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is non-acidic, non-toxic and biodegradable. It meets all Department of Transportation regulations for shipment by land and sea. It also has a long shelf life
It's easier to use
Ease of handling permits more jobs to be done on-site.
It reduces risks!
To personnel--because there are no dangerous alkaline materials to handle or special protective gear required. Normal safe-handling procedures for acid materials are required.
To equipment--because there is no alkaline residue to attack metal parts.
To the environment--because the non-toxic, and biodegradable composition of GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat-Transfer System Cleaner Additive is easily treated by most municipal water treatment plants.
Industrial Applications:
Because of its unique characteristics, GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is an ideal cleaner additive for the following systems, regardless of size:
Heating or cooling systems containing dissimilar metals or with critical tolerance factors which are adversely affected by the use of alkaline cleaners.
Heating or cooling systems which must be cleaned online.
Heating or cooling systems with piping and components in areas (offices, hospitals, apartment buildings, etc.) where critical equipment, people or other systems which could be adversely affected by leaks or accidental spills of alkaline cleaning solution.
NOTE: In systems containing soft metals such as zinc, magnesium, GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive should not be used at concentrations over two percent, or in excess of two hours unless etching of these metals is unimportant.
Cleaning procedure:
While it is difficult to provide a single cleaning procedure for all situations, certain elements are similar in the majority of cases. The following guideline procedures are recommended, however the user should assess his system carefully prior to use.
One or more critical sections of the system (heat exchanger, pump, tank, etc.) should be opened prior to cleaning to determine the extent and type of scale present. This permits a reasonable estimate of the solution strength and circulating time required to clean the system effectively.
After inspection, close the system and fill with ambient temperature water; then circulate for at least 15 minutes.
Discontinue circulation and immediately drain and flush the system through a low point to remove loose, undissolved solids. If left in the system, these solids unnecessarily contribute to depletion of the cleaner solution.
Refill the system with a solution of diluted Hydrochloric acid and add GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive, ranging in concentration from between one to five percent (by volume), depending upon the amount of scale in the system.
Never add concentrated Hydrochloric Acid to the GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive or the GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive to the concentrated Hydrochloric acid.
Systems containing a very thin layer of scale are readily cleaned by one percent solution of the cleaner additive, to the hydrochloric acid cleaner while systems with up to 1/16" of scale require larger addition.
Cleaning Time:
The time required to clean a system with GENKLEEN 1300 Industrial Heat Transfer System Cleaner Additive is dependent upon several variables, such as: type of scale to be removed, thickness of scale, flow rate, solution concentration, solution temperature, and the ratio of solution volume to system surface area.
Generally, solution concentrations between one and five percent will provide satisfactory cleaning in two to four hours at room temperature.
